Jean-Christophe graduated as an engineer from Ecole Centrale in Lille, where his main subjects were mechanical and electrical engineering, and then a major in industrial computer science.

Jean-Christophe started his career as an R&D engineer within the Safran group, before turning to patent law in a large multinational law firm.

As a qualified European patent attorney, he successively held positions at Schneider Electric and then a Paris law firm, before co-founding an IP boutique based in Paris and Toulouse.

Jean-Christophe joined Bandpay & Greuter to lead the mechanical engineering / electrical engineering department.

Jean-Christophe’s favorite subjects are mechanical and electrical engineering. But in view of his general background and his broad scientific interests, he works on cases across a large area of technical fields, such as for example IoT and materials science.

Examples of specific topics that he regularly handles include:

  • agricultural machinery;
  • robotics;
  • watchmaking;
  • automotive industry;
  • underground exploration;
  • telephone apps.

Jean-Christophe has considerable experience in patent prosecution before the European, American, Japanese, Korean, Indian and Chinese patent offices. He is a skilled patent application drafter for European and international proceedings.

He also represents clients in opposition proceedings at the EPO or at the French patent office, notably in the field of agricultural machinery.

Jean-Christophe teaches patent law in a college in Paris. He is passionate about Asia and holds a degree in Mandarin Chinese, a language which he occasionally uses.
